Mitsui Global Investment was among the existing investors that contributed to a round for the open-network software provider sized above $20m.

Pica8, a US-based provider of software defined networking (SDN) technology, secured more than $20m in series C funding on Tuesday from investors including Mitsui Global Investment, part of diversified conglomerate Mitsui.

The round was co-led by WI Harper Group and Aspiro Capital Management and included all the company’s existing backers.

Founded in 2009, Pica8 provides open-network enterprise software and will channel the funding into expanding its product range and strengthening customer engagement and support.
