Akihiko Okamoto, head of human resources provider Recruit's corporate venturing unit Recruit Strategic Partners since 2011, has been appointed corporate executive officer.

Akihiko Okamoto, managing director of corporate venturing unit Recruit Strategic Partners (RSP) for over four years, has been promoted to corporate executive officer of its parent company, Japan-based human resources firm Recruit Holdings.

Okamoto joined Recruit in 2007, taking a position as manager of its new business development and brand management divisions. He was promoted in 2011 to head Silicon Valley-based RSP, which was established by Recruit in 2008, as managing director, and will retain that role.

Companies RSP has funded since Okamoto took the helm include lending platform Kabbage, e-signature technology provider DocuSign and e-commerce company SnapDeal.
