The AR display developer, backed by Motorola in 2005, has raised new funding from investors including Crystal-Optech and will use it to scale manufacturing.

Israel-based augmented reality (AR) near-to-eye display developer Lumus raised $15m on Wednesday in a round led by investment group Shanda that featured photo-electric display equipment maker Crystal-Optech.

Lumus develops and sells transparent displays to consumer electronics and smart eyewear manufacturers looking to build AR technology. The funding will be used to increase production of its technologies.
