Founder of Sweden-based venture capital firm Siguiente Capital steps up role at US-based media and marketing company Odyssey Pictures.
Odyssey Pictures, a US-based media and marketing company for the film industry which has a nascent corporate venturing fund, has appointed Stefan Drakelid as vice chairman.
Drakelid initially became a board member in 2007 when the Sweden-based venture capital firm he founded, Siguiente Capital, helped the company financially.
Drakelid said: "I am honoured and excited to be playing more of a leadership role on Odyssey’s board. John Foster [Odyssey’s head] has done an amazing job restoring the company to viability and profits."
Although initially an entertainment company that focused on the financing and distribution of motion pictures, over the past two years Odyssey has diversified into branding and marketing services, content distribution, digital delivery technologies for internet protocol television and corporate finance.
