The truck maker’s corporate venturing unit expands its ranks with the Deloitte alumnus.
Willian Derek Ruiz has joined Randon Ventures, the corporate VC arm of Brazilian freight vehicle manufacturer Randon Corporation, after a three-year stint at Deloitte, where he worked at M&A and business development supervisor.
Randon Ventures, which also operates an accelerator function in addition to its direct investment, focuses on areas including logistics, fintech, insurtech and mobility, deep tech, smart manufacturing, blockchain, and computer vision.
Before his time at Deloitte, Ruiz worked at design consultancy Arcadis, leading its innovation ecosystem, after a few analyst and researcher roles. He is also a former member of FEA Angels, an angel investor network built around the University of Sao Paulo. He is a member of VC community Emerging Venture Capital Fellows.
