The former managing director of the Spanish telecommunications company's investment unit has not disclosed where she is going next.

Guenia Gawendo, Telefónica Ventures’ managing director for the past six years, has left the CVC arm of the Spanish telecommunications company, she announced in a LinkedIn post.

Gawendo worked at Telefónica for 23 years. She held a variety of positions, including chief of staff to the chief commercial and digital officer, and Silicon Valley office director.

She launched Telefónica’s presence in Silicon Valley in 2016. She most recently was managing director of Telefónica Ventures where she led a team identifying and investing in startups and venture capital funds.
