Bloomberg Beta participated in a series A round that lifted the coding platform developer's total funding to $26m.

Replit, a US-based in-browser multiplayer coding environment, raised $20m in series A funding in early 2020 from investors including Bloomberg Beta, the venture capital firm sponsored by media group Bloomberg, it has disclosed. Venture capital firm A.Capital Ventures lead the round with participation from VC peers Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator and Reach Capital as well as angel investors including Paul Buchheit and Paul Graham. Founded in 2016, Replit had created an integrated development environment that is free through a web browser and which enables users to start coding. The company said its total funding now stands at $26m, $4.5m coming in a 2018 seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz and backed by Bloomberg Beta, Reach Capital and Y Combinator, all of which were described as existing investors. Amjad Masad, founder and CEO of Replit, said: “The platform is where millions of apps are developed, from teenagers building bots for (online communication service) Discord for a better gaming experience, to seasoned professional developers building startups backed by Y Combinator.”
