Tessa Thomas has left her role as associate director of Flipkart Ventures, the CVC unit of the Indian online shopping company Flipkart.
She joined Flipkart in 2020 as a corporate strategy manager. As part of her role, she arranged partnerships and worked on the post-Covid customer strategy.
In 2023, she moved to Flipkart Ventures where she was responsible for investments in fintech, SaaS, generative AI and consumer tech startups. She became associate director in August.
Prior to Flipkart, she worked in the strategy department of Razorpay, an Indian fintech payments platform.
Launched in 2019, Flipkart Ventures has a $100m fund targeting startups in sectors related to e-commerce, fintech and payments, including AI and software.
In January, it led the $1.1m seed funding round for FlexifyMe, an Indian online physiotherapy startup. In September 2023, it participated in the $6m pre-series A funding round for Castler, an Indian startup that provides escrow services for startups and banks.
Thomas’s new role is vice president of 360 One Asset, a VC fund backed by Bain Capital, a private equity firm. She is responsible for the build-out its early-stage VC investment team.
Today it was announced that 360 One Asset had invested in Indian contract drugmaker OneSource Specialty Pharma, purchasing its interest on a secondary market from another investor.
