Palida Artispong is moving up at financial services firm Krungsri's corporate venture capital arm, promoted to acting managing director.
Thai bank Krungsri has promoted Palida Artispong to acting managing director of its strategic investment arm, Krungsri Finnovate, replacing unit founder Sam Tanskul.
Artispong has been at Krungsri Finnovate for more than six years and was appointed head of strategic partnership and investor relations in 2022. She will develop an investment strategy for the portfolio as well as expanding strategic partnerships with startups.
Tanskul set up the fund in 2017 with $30m to invest in financial technology startups for Krungsri, also known as Bank of Ayudhya. It has since expanded its sector remit as well as adding startup accelerator, incubator and venture studio programmes.
The unit’s portfolio companies have included ride hailing app Grab, which floated in a $4.5bn IPO in 2021, as well as online travel agency Klook, mobile banking service Ascend Money and logistics provider Flash Express, each of which have reached billion-dollar valuations.
Tanskul remains head of innovation and fintech for Krungsri as well as leading its Innovation Lab, according to LinkedIn. The bank described Artispong’s promotion as part of a planned organisational succession plan.
