Vivian Cheng, formerly principal at venture firms CRV and Javelin Venture Partners, has joined the German industrial group’s CVC arm.

Vivian Cheng has joined Next47, the US-based corporate venture capital arm of German industrial conglomerate Siemens, as a partner.

Launched in 2016, Next47 backs software-as-a-service, enterprise and artificial intelligence technology developers. The unit focuses on companies in the US, Europe and Israel from series A to C rounds.

Satellite-based connection services provider Skylo, AI-driven cybersecurity technology developer Radiant Security and Tractian, which is working on industrial monitoring systems, are among Next47’s recent investments.

Based in San Francisco, Cheng was a principal at CRV from late 2021. Before that, she held a similar role at another venture capital firm, Javelin Venture Partners, for more than two years.
