Jordan McAlister has left the US telecoms firm after nearly three years leading its venture and innovation strategy.

Jordan McAlister

Jordan McAlister left US telecommunications firm Cox Communications last week, where she was head of venture and innovation strategy.

McAlister joined Cox Communication in October 2021. The company invests in home automation technologies like smart home device management companies Dwelo and Level Home. Level Home later acquired Dwelo for an undisclosed sum.

Cox Communications has announced no further investments beyond the Level Home deal.

Cox Communications’ parent company, Cox Enterprises, runs a separate CVC initiative, Socium Ventures, which was launched in June 2023.

McAlister has been a mentor and corporate partner at pre-seed VC firm Techstars since 2018. She spent nearly six years at insurer MetLife, most recently as director of innovation from 2019.

“I’m wrapping up my time at Cox due to organisational changes and I’m excited to explore where I want to take my career next,” said McAlister in a LinkedIn post.
