Susan Heerings has departed from energy provider Eneco’s corporate venture capital unit to take up an investment manager position at renewable energy investment firm Meewind.

Eneco Ventures hired Heerings in 2018 as legal counsel after she had performed similar duties at law firm CorporateWise and drug developer Teva Pharmaceuticals.

Over the years, Heerings’ role expanded to include deal sourcing, investing and portfolio management. She also oversaw legal due diligence for the unit’s investments and supplied legal advice to portfolio companies.

“[At the] end of December I left Eneco Ventures after more than six years,” she said in a LinkedIn post announcing the move. “I had the best time and learned so much, but it is now time for a new chapter.”

Eneco Ventures oversees a 13-strong portfolio on behalf of its Netherlands-based parent that includes solar-based electricity provider Sunvigo, digital twin technology developer Gradyent and Klimate, the creator of a cloud-based strategic management platform for carbon removal.
