Sonic Healthcare and I-Med Radiology Network helped the smart diagnostics technology developer secure $91.6m that will be used to accelerate its expansion into new medical areas and scale its team.

Harrison.ai, an Australia-based developer of artificial intelligence-powered medical technology, received A$129m ($91.6m) today in a series B round featuring medical diagnostics providers Sonic Healthcare and I-Med Radiology Network. The round was led by venture capital firm Horizons Ventures and also backed by Blackbird Ventures and Skip Capital. Founded in 2018, Harrison.ai is designing clinically effective AI tools to support diagnostics in a range of medical areas. Its lead product is a smart radiology system developed in partnership with I-Med. The company plans to use the capital to accelerate commercialisation of its clinical AI applications, expand into new areas of healthcare with global clinical partners and hire additional AI data scientists and engineers. Harrison.ai had previously collected $19.8m in a 2019 series A round led by Blackbird Ventures with backing from healthcare provider Ramsay Health Care, Horizons Ventures and Skip Capital. Aengus Tran, co-founder and chief executive of Harrison.ai, said: “Delivering equitable, effective and accurate healthcare to more people is a critical part of our mission at Harrison.ai, and as we emerge from the pandemic that mission is more important than ever. “With our model and methodology now proven across multiple clinical areas, we are in a position to expand to new clinical areas and deliver on our mission with the support of our investors and partners.”
