Rohit Giri left a director of corporate development role at BigCommerce to take up a similar position at Splunk, where he will help run its Splunk Ventures unit.

Rohit Giri has joined US-based big data software developer Splunk as director of corporate development and its corporate venturing unit, Splunk Ventures, leaving e-commerce software provider BigCommerce after three years.

Splunk Ventures is investing $150m into companies focused on enhancing the business value of data and a positive impact on society, through two purpose-built vehicles.

The company’s portfolio incudes Aclima, a developer of air quality analytics software, as well as cybersecurity system provider Acalvio, crowd intelligence platform developer Armored Things, skills-based social platform developer TalentSky and process mining services provider Celonis.

Between 2018 and October 2021, Giri was director of corporate development for BigCommerce, prior to which he had served a seven-year stint as corporate finance and financial strategy lead at website building software provider Squarespace.
