Aruna Subramanian has left Sabic Ventures, the corporate venture capital unit she led on behalf of Saudi Arabia-based chemicals producer Sabic for over a decade.

Sabic Ventures hired Subramanian as managing director in 2015 following a stint as a senior investment manager for VC fund manager Brightlands Venture Partners. She was previously an investment manager at petroleum provider Shell’s CVC arm.

Subramanian has taken on the managing director role at Trivergent Partners, a newly formed VC-as-a-service provider based in the Netherlands. It will do scouting, due diligence, deal negotiation and execution on behalf of mid-sized companies without their own CVC function.

Sabic Ventures has grown its portfolio to more than a dozen startups and funds under Subramanian’s leadership, including advanced materials manufacturer Boston Materials and LED display provider Azumo. She was named to the GCV Powerlist in 2024.
