Taha Syed Hussain has been a venture partner at DK Innovation, the innovation arm of downstream energy company Delek US, since the start of 2021.
Hussain joined DelekUS after 13 years at Chevron where he played in leadership positions in operations and Ventures. His vast experience with technology deployment projects enabled his transition to become a venture executive in his last four years with Chevron.
Founded in 2001, Delek US Holdings has assets in petroleum refining, logistics, convenience stores and renewables. Delek US is committed to creating value for its stakeholders and in 2021 committed to reducing 30% of its carbon emissions by 2030. The Delek Innovation team is responsible for partnerships and collaborations with growth technology companies that can support and transform the core business as well as developing new leg for the business with investments in new energy ventures.

Hussain has worked in the energy industry for almost 30 years with a special focus on technology, and his CV boasts spells with companies including Schlumberger, NOV and JP Kenny. He is currently a board member of Aperio, an operational data analyst, and of energy maintenance business Utility Global.
Hussain has a BSc in analytical chemistry from Karachi University and BS in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M as well as a master’s degree in technology management from Columbia University in New York City.
