Coinbase took part in EigenLabs’ $50m series A round while professional services firm Hakluyt reached the second close of its growth fund.

UK-based professional services firm Hakluyt has raised an undisclosed amount for the second close of growth-stage investment arm Hakluyt Capital fund. The unit focuses on companies at series B to D stage and is headed by managing partner Nick Bidmead.
M&A
Automotive component producer Lifelong India won an auction to acquire GoMechanic, an India-based car servicing platform backed by media group Bennett Coleman & Co (BCC), for an undisclosed amount. GoMechanic had raised a total of about $60m from investors including BCC ad-for-equity subsidiary Brand Capital but had reportedly cut its valuation to just $30m following revelations it misreported financial information.

UK-based staking protocol developer EigenLabs received $50m in series A funding from investors including Coinbase Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. The round, which took EigenLabs’ overall funding to $64.5m, was led by Blockchain Capital and also backed by Electric Capital, Polychain Capital, Hack VC and Finality Capital Partners.
