The Japanese aerial survey firm’s corporate venturing unit will invest in spatial information and decarbonisation technologies.
Japanese geospatial technology group Asia Air Survey launched a corporate venture capital arm of undisclosed size yesterday.
Kenji Takahashi (pictured), who joined Asia Air Survey in April this year as head of the firm’s new business creation group’s planning department, was appointed head of CVC office.
Founded in 1954, Asia Air Survey has built an aerial triangulation system, which is a measurement technology used for land conservation, natural disaster prevention, city planning and forestry.
The unnamed corporate venturing unit will target startups developing spatial information technology to tackle climate change, achieve decarbonisation and carbon neutrality, and identify new sensing methods.
—The story was updated on December 3 to include Takahashi’s new role as head of CVC at Asia Air Survey.
