The Bakery will help clients build CVC strategies while Staged Ventures will manage the funds and Pipe Ventures will provide deal flow.

Brazilian corporate innovation consultancy The Bakery has partnered with venture capital firm Staged Ventures and asset manager Pipe Ventures to form a locally focused corporate venture capital fund manager.

The unnamed scheme will bring together the three companies to design and execute innovation strategies, giving corporates access to global startups and innovation ecosystems.

Launched in 2012 in London, UK, The Bakery is co-led by chief executive Marcone Siqueira (pictured) and chief growth officer Felipe Novaes. The firm has carried out more than 80 deals, incubated 20 startups and scored eight unicorns.

Staged Ventures was founded in 2022 and co-led by general partners Geraldo Neto and Flavio Pripas. Pipe Ventures was co-founded by managing partners Bruno Pedroso and Pedro Carvalho.

“The Bakery understands [our clients’] business strategy, reality and needs very well; Pipe Ventures will conduct financial and CVC management; whereas Staged Venture can provide global reach and deal flow that very few managers offer,” Siqueira told Valor.
