Bupa Arabia’s participation in Global Ventures Fund II is as strategic partner.

Bupa Arabia, a health insurance company in the Middle East, has committed to Global Ventures, a Dubai-based international venture capital firm’s, second fund.

Bupa Arabia’s participation in Global Ventures Fund II as strategic partner particularly in Saudi Arabia comes after receiving regulatory approvals to establish Bupa Arabia Ventures.

Global Ventures has invested in 44 companies across 10 markets, including Clue, a female health application.

Noor Sweid, founder and general partner of Global Ventures, said: “Bupa Arabia shares our outlook and ambition on the digital health sector, and its potential for technology and innovation to deliver long-term economic benefits particularly in emerging markets.”

Nader Ashoor, chief financial officer of Bupa Arabia, which is a joint venture between Bupa and Nazer Group, added: “We … look forward to activate our strategic partnership in the new future.”
