The location data analysis software producer has increased its total funding to date to $31m following a series B round backed by Salesforce.

Salesforce Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of cloud computing company Salesforce, has backed a $23m series B round for location data analytics and visualisation software developer CartoDB.

The round was led by Accel Partners and featured Earlybird Ventures and Kibo Ventures.

Founded in 2012, CartoDB produces technology to gain an insight into location data, identifying clusters and trends, such as enabling banks to identify consumer habits about when and where they use their credit cards.
