American Family Insurance leads B round in Shoutlet, and is joined by venture capital firms Origin Ventures and Leo Capital as repeat investors.

US-based American Family Insurance has turned from customer to investor in Shoutlet, a local social media marketing company, which has raised $6m in series B round.

American Family led the B round, and was joined by venture capital firms Origin Ventures and Leo Capital as repeat investors. Origin and Leo had previously invested $3.2m in Shoutlet.

American Family’s spokesman said it had made "previous venture capital investments, both individually and through funds. We continue to evaluate investment opportunities based upon our own criteria."
