US-listed internet conglomerate Alphabet has changed the name of one of its corporate venturing units from Google Capital to CapitalG and potentially disclosed its latest investment.

Alphabet was formed by internet group Google in October 2015 to act as an umbrella for its overall holdings.

Google Capital has been operated separately to Google in the Alphabet structure, as has another of the parent company’s venturing units, GV (formerly known as Google Ventures).
