US-listed semiconductor and data company Intel has hired Safroadu (Saf) Yeboah-Amankwah as senior vice-president and chief strategy officer after the departure of Wendell Brooks as president of Intel Capital in the summer.
Starting at the beginning of November from being a senior partner at management consultants McKinsey, Yeboah-Amankwah will be responsible for Intel’s global strategy office, including Intel Capital, the company’s corporate venturing unit, and will report to CEO, Bob Swan.
Swan said: “Saf has strong experience in strategy and international markets, a deep technical background, and he knows Intel well.”
Anthony Lin has been interim head of Intel Capital since Brooks’s departure. Separately, Brooks tweeted: “Coming back to California for first time since March. Anxious to meet with many of my friends. And I am super excited to start my next chapter.”
Yeboah-Amankwah added: “It’s an exciting time for Intel and the semiconductor industry as computing becomes ever more pervasive and powerful.”
Yeboah-Amankwah was most recently a senior partner and global head of the transformation practice for the telecom, media and technology (TMT) practice at McKinsey, based in Washington, DC. Previously, he served as managing partner for South Africa and head of McKinsey’s TMT and digital practice for Africa, among other roles.
