Verve hires Tom MacIsaac as chief executive ahead of buying Deconstruct Media.

Verve Wireless, a US-based provider of provider of mobile publishing and advertising technologies to local media companies, has acquired peer Deconstruct Media for an undisclosed amount.

In September, Verve raised $7m from venture capital firm BlueRun Ventures, which span out from phone maker Nokia in 2005, and newswire Associated Press, which had been a previous investor.

And Verve hired Tom MacIsaac (pictured) as chief executive (CEO) on January 18. MacIsaac had been CEO of ExtendMedia, an online video platform acquired by computer equipment company Cisco Systems in September. Previously he sold Lightningcast to New York-listed AOL in 2006, and Backwire to Leap Wireless in 2001.
