Stanford-backed big data firm Alpine Data Labs appoints Joe Otto as new chief executive officer.
Alpine Data Labs, a US-based big data firm incubated from within fellow big data company Greenplum and backed by Stanford University, has appointed Joe Otto as its new chief executive officer.
The firm received backing from Stanford in 2011 when the University took part in a $7.5m series A round. Also involved were Sierra Ventures, Mission Ventures, and Sumitomo Corporation Equity Asia.
