The technology transfer veteran has been made head of the German teaching hospital's new technology transfer office.

Isaac Shariv has been appointed as head of the technology transfer office of the University Medical Center Göttingen, a German teaching hospital.
The Göttingen technology transfer office has been newly established to work to turn the university’s medical research into healthcare products and services, such as new drugs and medical devices. The university has also launched an accelerator to work on technology transfer.
Shariv joins after 12 years working in technology transfer as CEO of Weizmann Institute Assets and Development, a subsidiary of the Israeli university Weizmann Institute of Science, which works to commercialise the university’s research. Weizmann’s spinouts include Renewal Bio, which works with stem cells, and ProFuse Technology, which develops tech for lab-grown meat manufacture.
Shariv’s career in tech goes back more than thirty years. In 1993, he became CEO of Israeli manufacturer El-Mul, which makes products including as electron microscopes. He was director of Israel Aerospace Industries, a state-owned aerospace and aviation manufacturer, for three years from 2015.
