The founder of the university's spinout commercialisation arm said in a LinkedIn post that she is taking a breather to "regroup".
Karen Laigaard has left her position as the head of IP and legal at the University of Copenhagen Technology Transfer Office as a result of “administrative reform” at the university, according to a LinkedIn post.
Laigaard said in the post that it is a good time for both parties to go “our separate ways”.
Laigaard was hired in 2003 to establish the technology transfer office for the Danish university. In 2021, the office launched UCPH Ventures, a fund for investing in the university’s own spinouts.
Laigaard was international marketing manager at the University of Glasgow and head of section for the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
