Every day, Global University Venturing rounds up investments from across the university innovation ecosystem in its deal net.

Amiral Technologies, a France-based developer of a tool to predict the failure of industrial equipment, has picked up €2.8m ($3.1m) in a funding round backed by Kreaxi, Accurafy4 and Bacs-Innov. The round included an undisclosed amount of debt and grants provided by Bpifrance and financial institutions. Amiral Technologies is a spinout of research institute CNRS and was launched with the support of Satt Linksium.

Orixha, a France-based developer of a fluid ventilation device to induce therapeutic hypothermia for post-cardiac arrest syndrome, raised €2m ($2.2m) in a funding round yesterday backed by Satt Erganeo, which helped launch the spinout, together with medical plastics engineering company InfiPlast, manufacturing group OEM Development, R&D services provider Activation and angel syndicate Angels Santé. Orixha is a joint spinout of Alfort National Veterinary School, Inserm and Université de Sherbrooke.

Nebula Biocides, a Germany-based disinfection process developer spun out of Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology, has raised €1.6m ($1.8m) in seed funding from High-Tech Gründerfonds, Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and an undisclosed strategic investor.

Operaize, a Germany-based company that uses artificial intelligence to bolster production efficiency and sustainability, has secured €1.5m ($1.7m) in seed capital from Fraunhofer Technology-Transfer Fonds, the venture capital vehicle for Fraunhofer Society, together with NRW.Bank and High-Tech Gründerfonds. The money will enable Operaize to accelerate product development and grow its customer base.

BrightSens Diagnostics, a France-based molecular diagnostics company, has been officially spun out of University of Strasbourg by Satt Conectus, which supplied €500,000 ($560,000) in funding. BrightSens will initially focus on applications in oncology and virology.
