Janrain, a US-based user management platform for social websites, has raised $33m from a consortium including software provider Salesforce.

Venture capital firm Millennium Technology Value Partners led the Janrain round, alongside peers Split Rock Partners, Epic Ventures, Emergence Capital, RPM Ventures, DFJ Frontier and Anthem Venture Partners.

Janrain previously raised $15.5m in August 2011 led by Emergence Capital, which first invested in Salesforce. Janrain first raised $3.25m in December 2009, four years after it launched.
