Discovery has returned to lead a series B round for the animal-focused media provider, which also counts Softbank as an investor.
The Dodo, the US-based operator of a media site featuring animal-related content, has raised $11.5m in a series B round led by media company Discovery Network, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.
Three undisclosed venture capital firms also participated in the round.
Launched in January 2014, Dodo produces entertainment and advocacy content centred on animals. The company also pulls in third-party content from social media networks.
