New investors Norwest Venture Partners were joined by Kleiner Perkins and Medtronic in a $30m D round for US-based medical device company Intersect ENT.

Humedica, a US-based clinical intelligence company for health care providers, life sciences and research organizations, has raised $33m in its series C round from a consortium including local drugs maker Merck.

Six co-founders, including Jon Flint, co-founder and general partner at Polaris, and inventor Robert Langer, professor and serial entrepreneur at MIT's Langer Labs Living Proof, launched Living Proof in 2004 to change how hair behaves using patented new molecules.

In March 2011, Living Proof, formerly known as Andora, raised $16m in its B round following a $9m A round in 2009, according to its regulatory filing.

Venture capital firm QuestMark Partners led the round, and was joined by peers August Capital, Morgenthaler Ventures, Onset Ventures and Baseline Ventures as well as Thayer.

Baronova, a US-based medical device maker for weight loss, has raised $27.3m in its series C round led by Sante Ventures and US-listed healthcare company Boston Scientific as new investors.
