Jenna Foger, senior VP of Science and Technology at of Alexandria Venture Investments, is one of the 100 leading corporate venturing professionals in our 2024 Powerlist.

For the past decade, Jenna Foger has been senior vice president of science and technology at Alexandria Venture Investments, the strategic investment arm of life science-focused real estate investment trust Alexandria Real Estate Equities, where she leads venture investments and ecosystem activities for its New York Citylife sciences cluster.

Foger also led the strategic planning for Alexandria Launch Labs – a startup accelerator for early-stage life science and agtech companies – as well as for the Alexandria Seed Capital Platform, which was formed in2018 to accelerate seed funding in the life sciences space. On the real estate side, she also underwrites each of Alexandria Real Estate’s tenants and maintains touchpoints with them.

Most recently, these include series Arounds for immunotherapy company Mirador Therapeutics, biotechnology research company Enlaza Therapeutics and oncology specialist Delphia Therapeutics. It also participated in a seed round for cancer cell therapy developer OverT Bio. Successful past exits include pharmaceutical company Moderna, cancer therapy developer Acrivon Therapeutics and agtech company Benson.

Before joining Alexandria, Foger had a year-long stint as an associate at VC firm Windham Venture Partners, where she focused on diagnostics, medical technology and digital health. This came after spending three years as a senior consultant at Easton Associates, where she worked on strategic planning and product evaluation for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Foger holds a bachelor of arts degree in cognitive neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania – graduating summa cum laude– and a master’s degree in biotechnology from Columbia University.
