Alokik Advani, managing partner of Fidelity International Strategic Ventures, is among the 100 leading corporate venturing professionals in our 2024 Powerlist.

Alokik Advani, managing partner at Fidelity International Strategic Ventures, the corporate venture capital firm of the global asset manager Fidelity International, heads a highly active corporate venturing unit.

Fidelity made five startup investments in the past year, including the carbon accounting platform Greenly, which raised a $52m series B round. The team also made recent investments in Sylvera, a company aiming to bring transparency to the carbon bond markets; 73 Strings, which provides augmented intelligence for alternative assets; and ZILO, a global transfer agency provider.

The firm mainly invests in startups focused on the fintech space. It has invested in 27 startups since it was founded and currently has 23 companies in its portfolio.

The unit has overseen four portfolio company exits, most notably UK-based equity management platform Capdesk, which was acquired by US-based fintech unicorn Carta in 2022. Having been an investor for almost two decades, Advani is passionate about spending time with driven entrepreneurs who have a vision. For him, developing deep relationships to withstand fluctuations in the corporate venturing world is what he loves most about his job.

As part of his role, Advani sits on the boards of several portfolio companies.

Advani’s career also includes 10 years at Goldman Sachs, as head of principal strategic investments, APAC. Before this, he spent eight years at management company Merrill Lynch, where he held various positions, including investment banking analyst and vice president of business development.

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a master’s degree in business administration and management from Insead. Advani has been listed on the Powerlist twice before, in 2021 and 2022.
