Ex-Powerlister Gonzalo Gout led the corporate VC arm of construction business Cemex since its launch in 2017.

Gonzalo Galindo Gout has left his role as president of Cemex Ventures, the corporate VC and open innovation arm of Mexico-based construction business Cemex.

A former GCV Powerlister, Gout led the Cemex Ventures team since its launch in 2017. Prior to this, Gout spent more than 18 years in various roles at the parent company. He has not disclosed his next move.

Cemex Ventures focuses on investments globally in green construction, enhanced productivity, construction supply chain and future of construction. The unit also helps early-stage companies seeking support with market growth through pilots, research and development testing activities, or by giving them access to their network of investors, VCs and accelerators.

The unit’s most recent investments include low-carbon cement production technology developer Terra CO2, software provider for efficiency in energy-intensive industries Optimitive and soil marketplace provider Soil Connect.
