Faran Nouri has left Lam Capital, US semiconductor provider Lam Research’s corporate venturing arm, to join investment firm America’s Frontier Fund as general partner and executive vice president for microelectronics.

In addition to her global head role at Lam Capital, Nouri also departed from her vice president of corporate strategy position at Lam Research, where she spent nearly seven years from 2016.

During her stint at Lam Capital, Global Corporate Venturing included Nouri on the Rising Stars roster in 2019 and the Powerlist later in the same year as well as in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Lam Capital’s portfolio features intelligent modelling software producer Geminus.AI, storage chipmaker Innostar and Mission Bio, which is developing DNA analysis technology. It has scored exits including DNA sequencing platform Omniome and metal printer manufacturer Velo3D.

In a statement on LinkedIn, Nouri said: “Though I am leaving Lam Capital – in the capable hands of Bo Zhu, Kevin Chen, Eva L, Benjamin Haskell and the extended team – for a role as a financial VC, I look forward to partnering with all my CVC colleagues, in particular across the semiconductor industry.”
