After launching Socium Ventures in 2023 with a $300m fund, the US conglomerate has announced a second $300m targeting tech startups.

Cox Enterprises

The US broadband, automotive and media conglomerate Cox Enterprises has announced a second $300m fund for its CVC, Socium Ventures.

It will target tech startups across sectors including AI, health, fintech, enterprise software, advanced computing and sustainability. Investments will range between $3m and $25m. It will focus on companies at the series A stage and beyond.

This brings the total capital managed by Socium Ventures to $600m, since Cox Enterprises initially funded it with $300m when it was founded in June 2023.

The CVC holds around 19 portfolio companies, including Knowde, a digital marketplace for the chemicals industry, and Capsule, a pharmaceuticals delivery company. It recently took part in the $17m series B funding round for Crisp, an enterprise data management and analytics platform.
