US crypto trading firm Auros has launched a corporate venture capital arm called Auros Ventures.

The new unit was only announced yesterday but has already invested more than $15m since the third quarter last year. It intends to follow up with $50m over the next few years.

Founded in 2019, Auros is a digital asset exchange and trading platform. Auros Ventures will invest in Web3 and digital asset startups.

The fund has 14 portfolio companies, including blockchain-based contract provider Pyth and cryptocurrency infrastructure operator Berachain.

Julien Auchecorne joined Auros Ventures in April 2024 to lead the unit. Previously, he worked at hedge fund manager Brevan Howard and digital asset platform XBTO Group.
