Biren Technology helped provide $120m for CPU producer HJ Micro while ArcelorMittal is set to invest $100m a year through its XCarb Innovation Fund and Accelerator Programme.

China-based central processing unit manufacturer HJ Micro has secured RMB800m ($120m) in angel and pre-series A funding from investors including chipmaker Biren Technology, 36Kr reported today. Walden International, Hillhouse Capital’s GL Ventures unit and CDH Investments’ CDH Venture and Growth Capital subsidiary co-led both rounds, investing alongside Xinlanwei, Xingrui Capital, CD Capital, Green Pine Capital Partners, Creo Capital, Zhongyiren Investment, Haihe Qirui Capital and Xiao Ventures.
