Murphy moves from The Coca-Cola Company to Greycroft to lead global strategic relationships.

Former senior vice president of global venturing at the Coca-Cola Company, Jim Murphy, has joined US venture capital firm Greycroft as a partner. His new role will see him leading global strategic relationships and partnerships with limited partners and Greycroft portfolio companies.

Murphy spent nearly 23 years at The Coca-Cola Company where he spent most of his time in mergers and acquisitions. “Having spent many years in corporate VC and M&A at The Coca-Cola Company, travelling the world and working with a wide range of partners, I’ve deeply appreciated that strong relationships are the anchor of good business outcomes. That mindset has been the foundation of my approach and will continue into my work at Greycroft,” Murphy told Global Corporate Venturing.

While at Coca-Cola, Murphy worked with Greycroft to launch the $137m Greycroft Coca-Cola Sustainability Fund in 2023. The fund invests in sustainability technology and includes eight of Coca-Cola’s bottling companies.

Murphy said he was “most excited about the opportunity to become more deeply involved in earlier-stage venture investing. After years on the corporate and strategic side, stepping into this part of the ecosystem offers a new way to apply what I’ve learned while continuing to build value across the venture landscape.”

Greycroft is a multi-stage, multi-strategy venture firm focused on software, sustainability and consumer brands.
