Confide, a US-based company that enables confidential messaging on smart phones, has closed $1.9m in seed financing led by WGI Group and including Google Ventures and CrunchFund.

The Confide smart phone app allows the sending and receiving of encrypted screenshot-proof messages that self-destructing after they are read.

The seed funding round was led by WGI Group, a private investment group of experienced internet entrepreneurs. Other investors include Google Ventures, First Round Capital, SV Angel, Lerer Ventures, CrunchFund, Lakestar, Marker, BoxGroup, Jeremy Stoppelman, Doug Ellin and Billy Bush
