Multinational dating website Match.com has established a toehold in the Chinese market by acquiring a stake in the dating and matchmaking service.

Match.com, one of the worldwide dating websites operated by US-based internet company IAC, acquired a 20% stake in China-based matchmaking website Zhenai yesterday for an undisclosed amount.

Zhenai is only the most recent dating website Match has invested in with the aid of IAC. Match acquired US-based Singlesnet in February 2010, followed by its global competitor OK Cupid a year later. IAC also owns properties including Vimeo, College Humor and Newsweek/Daily Beast.
