Hinge Health has bought Wrnch, a computer vision technology developer exploiting research from Concordia University.

Wrnch, a Canada-based developer of deep learning-powered tools partly based on Concordia University technology, was acquired by Hinge Health, a digital health company focused on musculoskeletal conditions.
Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Founded in 2014, Wrnch has developed computer vision technology to precisely track full-body movements in three dimensions. Hinge Health will use the technology for applications such as motion assessments of patients and exercise tracking.
Wrnch last raised funding in 2019, securing $7.5m from camera and imaging technology developer Nikon.
The company previously attracted $1.8m in a 2016 series A round backed by Aligo Innovation, the commercialisation firm that has since been restructured into Axelys, and TandemLaunch Ventures, a seed fund aligned with accelerator TandemLaunch.
Radical Ventures led the series A round, which also featured Gr0k Technologies, a commercialisation firm founded by Wrnch CEO Paul Kruszewski.
