Paul Butler has returned to multi-university venture fund Uniseed as an investment manager to fill a role vacated by Anthony Musumeci.
Paul Butler (pictured) has rejoined Australia-based multi-university venture fund Uniseed as an investment manager, replacing Anthony Musumeci who has left for municipal economic development agency Brisbane Marketing.
Butler arrives at Uniseed having previously been on the investment team from 2016 until 2017 before moving to Brisbane for family reasons.
He was then appointed chief executive of cosmetic surgery technology developer Serene Medical, building on startup experience previously accrued at mining industry technology supplier GroundProbe from 2011 until 2013 and medical device maker Uscom from 2002 until 2010.
Since 2010, Butler has also helmed an executive consulting service called CEO Alliance focused on emerging medical device and tech businesses. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics, business and marketing from Macquarie University in 1999.
Musumeci has departed Uniseed after three and a half years during which he had helped steer the fund’s investments in University of Sydney-founded farm robotics company Agerris and University of Queensland’s power infrastructure management platform developer Aurtra.
