Enduvo, a virtual training middleware developer exploiting University of Illinois research, has secured seed funding.
Enduvo, a US-based virtual training program middleware developer linked to University of Illinois, received an undisclosed seed sum today from investors including Caerus Institute, an innovation hub launched by Illinois Institute of Technology.
UL Ventures, the investment subsidiary of safety and regulatory services provider UL, also contributed, as did multiple angel investors.
Founded in 2017, Enduvo markets a content creation engine that helps clients develop virtual or augmented reality-driven training programs from a combination of 2D assets, 3D modelling and video clips.
Enduvo caters to health providers, industrial firms, manufacturers and governments. Uses for the technology include facilitating remote training for learners who are not based close to the client.
The seed money will go towards gearing up Enduvo’s roll-out and funding the development of additional features.
Enduvo spawned from the Advanced Imaging and Modeling Lab at Jump Simulation, part of the Jump Arches industry-academia partnership between nonprofit healthcare provider OSF HealthCare’s innovation unit and University of Illinois’s College of Engineering and College of Medicine Peoria.
The spinout previously raised an undisclosed sum from angel investors, according to the latest press release, though full details were not provided.
