University of St Thomas has teamed up with Gener8tor to launch two accelerators for students and startups affiliated with the university.

University of St Thomas has joined forces with venture fund and accelerator Gener8tor to launch two accelerators, gAlpha and gBeta, funded by the philanthropic Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.
Both accelerators will operate from the St Thomas Schulze School of Entrepreneurship on a no fee and no equity basis.
The first program, gAlpha, is a four-week entrepreneurship workshop for teams of five-to-eight students, while gBeta is a seven-week program open to early-stage startups with “roots” within the university.
The initial gBeta cohort will consist of five startups and will begin in summer 2019. Gener8tor has previously launched a version of the initiative in partnership with medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific.
Gener8tor is currently recruiting a full-time director for gBeta to work from the St Thomas campus.  The program will remain industry and business model-agnostic, with the aim of building links with the Twin Cities startup ecosystem.
Laura Dunham, associate dean of the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship at St Thomas, said: “At the Schulze School, we have a vision for providing an educational experience that is second to none for entrepreneurship.
“By partnering with Gener8tor, we are taking that commitment to the next level.”
