Cardiff University has become the sixth institution to join the partnership, having already collaborated on one programme for three years.

UK-based enterprise partnership SETsquared added Cardiff University to its list of member universities today, growing to six institutions in total.
SETsquared was founded in 2002 as an incubator for the universities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey. It has supported more than 5,000 entrepreneurs to date, enabling its portfolio to raise more than £2.72bn in investment.
It has, in research firm UBI Global’s international ranking, been the number one university incubator since 2015.
Cardiff University’s formal addition follows the institution’s participation in SETsquared’s Scale-Up Programme since 2018.
Jon Hunt, chairman of SETsquared and executive director, research and enterprise, at University of Bristol, said: “This is an exciting development for SETsquared and I am delighted that Cardiff has accepted the partnership’s invitation to join us in our future plans to accelerate the growth of our ecosystem, deliver greater impact, develop more entrepreneurial talent and support the development of our region’s economy.”
SETsquared is an event partner for our upcoming GCV Symposium on November 3 and 4 in London, UK, and will bring some of its best portfolio companies to pitch to corporate venture capital investors. Tickets are on sale now.
