Multi-university TTO Satt Sud-Est has licensed patents to GenOmnis for an RNA-based bioinformatics technology that will assess the pathogenicity of biological organisms.

Regional tech transfer office Satt Sud-Est has licensed patents jointly owned by Aix-Marseille Université, research institute Inserm and hospital operator Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Marseille (AP-HM) to France-based bioinformatics company GenOmnis.
Founded in 2017, GenOmnis provides bioinformatic services such as genomics and genetic testing to hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and drug developers.
The new licence covers a bioinformatics technology that applies high-throughput RNA sequencing and well-calibrated algorithms to help researchers gauge the likelihood of biological organisms causing disease.
Researchers from Marseille Medical Genetics Center, a partnership between Aix-Marseille and Inserm, were responsible for designing the technology alongside counterparts from AP-HM.
GenOmnis is a member of the Impulse Interuniversity Incubator, a program supported by Aix-Marseille Université as well as University of Avignon, École Centrale de Marseille and the Aix campus of École Arts et Metiers, in addition to several government-owned research bodies.
Aix-Marseille Université was formed in 2012 from the merger of the universities of Provence, Méditerranée and Paul Cézanne.
