The French regional TTO has joined forces with the national agency for aeronautical information for a deep tech acceleration program slated to open next January.
France-based regional tech transfer office Satt AxLR has invited applications for a new deep tech-focused accelerator intended to equip startups to secure at least €1m ($1.1m) in funding, La Tribune has reported.
The program, called SIA – Satt, incubateur, accélérateur in French, will run on a country-wide basis in partnership with the national agency for aeronautical information – Service de l’information aéronautique.
Its partners include local accelerator provider WeSprint, business incubator BIC Montpellier and startup network Leader Occitanie, in addition to regional economic development agency Ad’OCC, with the latter reportedly joining Satt AxLR as a shareholder in August 2019.
The new accelerator will support deep tech startups as they seek early business growth by scoping out an appropriate market strategy and preparing to pitch to potential clients.
It will complement AxLR’s existing support initiatives, including its role as one of the facilitators of the $463m French Tech Seed fund announced in 2018.
Graduates of the accelerator that generate revenues of at least $1.1m may also be referred to Leader Occitanie’s growth-stage accelerator for continued development.
SIA – SATT, incubateur, accélérateur will welcome its first startups in January 2020 having announced the successful applicants the previous month.
