The Stanford-linked artificial intelligence technology developer doubled its valuation to $5.1bn in a round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.
SambaNova Systems, a US-headquartered artificial intelligence software spinout of Stanford University, raised $676m in a series D round led by internet and telecommunications group SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2 yesterday.
The round included Intel Capital and GV, corporate venturing subsidiaries for semiconductor and data technology provider Intel and internet and technology group Alphabet respectively, and it valued the company at $5.1bn, chief executive Rodrigo Liang told TechCrunch.
